School Performances: There are 8 school performances scheduled for January 25 & 26 as well as February 1 & 2 at 9:45am & 11:45am

Ages: for this production, we are looking for actors 10 years old and up.

Adult Contracts: for this production, four paid contracts are available for adult actors.

Style: Drama, non-musical. Requires versatile actors. The subject matter is difficult, but ultimately full of hope.

Audition dates: September 8, 6:00-9:30pm and September 9, 9:00am-4:30pm, appointment required.

Callbacks: Callbacks will be held at a date TBD.

Preparation: Actors will be sent monologues from the script after they have made their audition appointment. You will not need to have them memorized, but you should be familiar with them.

Rehearsal schedule: First rehearsal/orientation will be Sunday, December 10, time TBD—everyone will be called. Rehearsal will typically be held Sunday afternoons and Monday-Thursday evenings, though not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Tech week begins September 16.

Roles available:

  • Kenny Watson, Black Actor—the middle child, well-behaved and responsible. Looks up to Byron, but frustrated with his behavior.
  • Byron Watson, Black Actor—the oldest child, in a bit of a rebellion phase. Loves Kenny, but also teases him
  • Daddy (Daniel Watson), Black Actor—the father, hesitant to discipline Byron harshly. Family man.
  • Mama (Wilona Wilson), Black Actor—the mother, worried for Byron and his behavior. Stern, but loving.
  • Joey Watson, Black Actor—the youngest child, always tagging along.
  • Grandma Sands, Black Actor—the matriarch of the family, full of old school charm, humor, and discipline. Commands respect.
  • Buphead/Southerner/Wool Pooh—variety of different roles.
