Winter Break Workshops | K5-5th

Mon-Thur, December 19, 20, 21 & 22 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Molly Grey Davis | $200 Sold out!
Tues-Fri, December 27, 28, 29 & 30 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Molly Grey Davis | $200 Sold out!

So… Mom and Dad don’t have a break even though your school does.  Come to SCCT and play with us!  Games and activities are designed to keep students engaged and entertained with exercises and activities used in our regular session classes exploring group problem solving, being seen and heard in front of an audience, areas of the stage, and character development, etc.  These classes are meant to engage the child in a group environment, but are also to allow the parent some guilt free time to get their own work/appointments or shopping 😉 done. These classes are more general and aren’t themed per day, but will allow for a range of ages/interests and may also include craft time. Designed to keep excited kids active and having fun the week between school and big holidays. There will be no “sharing” recording for parents, just a bunch of socialization and interaction for the younger set.

**Please provide a nut-free snack and beverage as well as a packed lunch for your child.

* Due to the already low lost, the Early Enrollment discount does not apply for Workshops.*

Adult Acting

Sunday, Sept 11-Nov 20 | late afternoon/evening | Betsy Bisson | Free

Sorry–Fall 2022 enrollment is complete–no new students will be admitted till January 2023.

For those of you who are interested, we provide free acting classes for adults—college-age and up.  Offered at no cost, but if you have time to put up posters, count fliers, usher for us, etc—just do those things as you can — We’ll send out emails announcing our need, and if you can help, please do.

It’s a chance for beginners to seasoned actors to get together to learn more about all things theatre related as well as a chance to work on material within an ensemble of like-minded, supportive students.  Betsy Bisson is the Education Director at SCCT and has 30 + years of experience teaching acting.

If you’re a new student, you will be required to come to one of 2 orientations before being admitted into the class. The orientation will give you an idea of how the class is structured, what will be covered (and what won’t), and what the expectations of the students are. People who would like to be considered for admission should email to attend an orientation. New students will be admitted for the Fall semester pending those orientation meetings. As the class is offered free-of-charge, only students willing to commit to fairly consistent attendance should sign-up for an orientation/possible slot in the class.

We call it AA (because no one can give you grief for going to an AA meeting) and it meets on Sunday evenings pending parking lot availability in the 4-8pm range. See anticipated schedule listed below.

** CHILD CARE IS NOT OFFERED DURING ADULT ACTING CLASSES and children may not sit in the building without adult supervision. **

Mandatory Orientation – Sunday, August 21 from 5-6:30pm OR Sunday, August 28 from 5-6:30pm (If you absolutely cannot attend one of those dates, please email [email protected] and offer alternative dates/times you might be available.) TO SIGN UP – please email [email protected]  Your Name, Email address, Best Pnone # and the reason you want to take the class. Any previous history in theatre/acting? Specific goals? At the actual Orientation please be prepared to share your favorite play/musical/movie you’ve seen and why/how it impacted you. And be sure to select an orientation date to attend – Aug 21 or 28.

To be accepted into the class, you will be expected to understand and agree to our class expectations for attendance and participation and sign a Letter of Agreement.

**Returning students (students who have completed at least one semester of the class and performed in a Sharing, or SCCT Studio or Intermediate level students who are now graduates and have already learned the foundational material) must email [email protected] by August 28th to let her know you plan to return for the semester and detail what your goals are, please also include the type of material you want to work on, if you already have a scene partner lined up, and if you have already found material you would like to work on (if so, please include a pdf of picture of the material).

CLASSES – Sundays pending parking lot availability due to MainStage

If you anticipate being absent, please secure someone in the class to take notes for you and make a plan to talk to them BEFORE the next class to get those notes.
