Giving Tuesday

We believe that all children benefit from exposure to the arts.

Theatre arts education builds confidence, teamwork, creativity, perseverance, and a strong sense of self. It fosters literacy development, and for children with developmental or emotional issues, it offers a unique outlet to engage in a different way. Each year, the South Carolina Children’s Theatre reaches 50,000 youth and adults through our three-part mission: to educate and stimulate the minds and imaginations of young people and their families through 1) participation in theatre of the highest quality 2) year-round education and 3) accessible outreach.

We invite you to join us this Giving Tuesday as we build the next generation of confident young people ready to make a difference in the world! Your tax deductible donation will help bring our productions, theatre education classes and outreach programs to tens of thousands of children across our community, empowering each and every child to reach his or her full potential.

What your gift can do:

$10 underwrites a ticket for a Title I elementary student to attend a show as part of a field trip with his or her class.

$35 gives a child at a local outreach agency the opportunity to attend the 2020 Character Breakfast.

$50 pays for one student to experience a 10 week theatre arts residency at a Title I elementary school.

$100 underwrites a scholarship for a talented young person to attend a class as part of SCCT’s Theatre Arts Conservatory.

$250 provides 3rd grade elementary students the opportunity to experience our Bullying Prevention touring program.

$500 allows SCCT’s Principal Teaching Artist to provide five hands-on arts therapy classes for special needs children at The Washington Center.

Amounts listed on this page are only examples of how your donation may be used to benefit the children of South Carolina. Any amount given is greatly appreciated and will be used to help further the mission of South Carolina Children’s Theatre through annual operations.
