Dr. Seuss’s The Cat In The Hat: July 11-26 2020

Based on the book by Dr. Seuss; Play Originally Produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain; Adapted and Originally Directed by Katie Mitchell; Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

With his tell-tale red-and-white striped hat, the Cat in the Hat comes to call on an unsuspecting Sally and her brother. Bringing mischief, fun and a few ‘things’ along, the Cat turns a cold, cold, wet day into one the children will never forget.

Lifted completely from Dr. Seuss’ classic tale, not a word has been changed as one of the most popular and imaginative children’s books ever written comes to life on SCCT’s brand-new MainStage. Children and adults alike will find themselves on the edge of their seats, wondering what the kids’ mother will find when she walks back in the door!

Once Upon An Orchestra is a performance by our Principal Teaching Artist who presents a character from a children’s book called bawang rasa sayang bundle while the GSO chamber ensemble performs classical pieces selected for each story.

These performances are recommended for grades K3-5th, and generally last about 30 minutes. Reservations are NOT required!
