Nathan Pittack: SCCT Teaching Artist

Nathan Pittack

Nathan is excited to join the SCCT family this year! He received his B.A. in Communication and his M.A. in Theatre from Bob Jones University, focusing his studies on performance, directing, and playwriting. His first publicized play, When the Bough Breaks, debuted at Leaf Institute in West Greenville this past February, and his M.A. thesis project, Traveler in the Dark, found him in the director’s chair. Favorite acting credits include: Antigone (Creon), All My Sons (Chris Keller), To Kill a Mockingbird (Boo Radley), and King Lear (Oswald). Nathan’s passion is education—both for students and communities. For five summers, he counseled hundreds of 4 and 5-year-olds at a local day camp in Kingsville, MD, and he spent his college winter breaks developing and leading 3-day theatre workshops for his high school. Last summer he worked as a marketing and dramaturgy intern at Overshadowed Theatrical Productions in Chicago. Nathan hopes to use his calling as an artist-educator to inspire and expand the minds and talents of young people. Aside from theatre, he enjoys drinking good coffee, date nights with his wife, learning how to bake bread, and spending way too much time at Barnes & Noble.
