In Need of a Permanent Home
In 1987, South Carolina Children’s Theatre was founded as a creative haven for the children of South Carolina and their families – a safe place, free of judgement and full of encouragement. A place where children could grow and thrive through theatre.
More than 30 years later, we continue to grow right along with the children we serve and it is time to build a permanent home – one that can better support our mission of educating and stimulating the minds and imaginations of young people and their families.
The Stage Has Been Set
In 2010, Josephine Cureton, a dear friend of the theatre, donated a parcel of land adjacent to our current home on Augusta Street. With that gift began an exciting journey to a new home.
Through the hard work of campaign leadership and the generosity of philanthropic organizations and passionate individuals, we are making our dream of building on Augusta Street, a reality.
