Get a taste of stardom and explore the process of theatre training through high-energy theatre games, improvisation and activities on a special winter-mester theme! Create characters, explore dramatic interpretation, learn lingo and challenge your imagination and expression. Every class will include a variety of dramatic activities and training styles.
There will be no official “sharings” as part of this session—the focus will be on the topic rather than preparing for performance, but parents are welcome to quietly observe any class if discussed with the teacher in advance. Some teachers may elect to open a portion of the final class for observation.
ADVANCED AUDITION This class is designed to equip student actors with tools needed to prepare for auditions into Theatre programs such as Fine Arts Center, Governor’s School and college. Actors will be asked to choose 1-2 monologues of no less than 1-minute, no more than 2-minutes long. Monologues should be age appropriate and be from an actual play (read the whole play)—please check the audition requirements for your specific audition and bring those to the class as well.
