Our Story Drama class is a ritualistic problem solving workshop where we will use dramatic tools to explore a story and its characters. Great for ages 3-6 and especially for more reserved kids who may want to ease into theater. Story Drama will focus on a different book/problem every class and is malleable to any school schedule.
Our Exploration classes are less structured and more focused on learning and applying dramatic techniques through play. Great for the 3-6 age group and ideal for students who have a bit more confidence and are ready to be loud, silly, and are curious about performance. In Exploration, your students will learn how to be actors, directors, and audience members. They will focus on identifying the difference between emotions and sensations and communicating with both their bodies and their voices. Our Exploration classes can either be formulated into a one off workshop or can work towards building a performance with your student over a 10 to 12 week period.
If your school is unable to make one of our Storytime hours, one of our teaching artists can bring the world of Tell-Me-A-Story Theatre to you. With several stories to choose from, this performance experience is perfect for squirmy students who love to play pretend.
If you are looking for a field trip to expose students to theater, you can schedule a workshop in conjunction with one of our productions during the school week or on the weekend. These workshops can be molded to fit your program’s unique interests whether it’s on the production itself, actor training, or the theater profession.
As part of our education outreach, we can design a series of classes to fit your needs and explore areas of theatre, or other disciplines, by using drama techniques. Residencies can range from a single meeting to multiple weeks to an entire school year. The classes can take place during the school day or as an after-school or community-based drama enrichment program.
