Visiting Our Theatres

What is the Bell Stage?
In the 299-seat Bell Stage, audience members can expect to see larger-scale productions, but in an environment that is still accessible and where everyone feels close to the action.
In the 120-seat Younts Stage, productions have flexible bench seating, perfect for families with smaller children. The smaller space creates a more intimate viewing experience.

Our Bell Stage performances have assigned seating, meaning your tickets are associated with a specific seat in the theatre. You may select your seat preference from our seating map when purchasing tickets. The Younts Stage has General Admission seating. Patrons pick their seats when they arrive.

Parking is available in the SCCT lot for $5.00 per vehicle on performance show dates (effective March 4, 2023). Should our lot fill, parking is available along Augusta Street, and a paid City of Greenville lot is across the street, directly adjacent to Gather GVL. A private paid lot is located on University Street, behind Monkee’s of the West End. SEE THE PARKING MAP HERE. If you use a ride-sharing service such as Uber or Lyft, there is ample room for drop off and pick up directly in front of the building.

Yes, SCCT has accessible seating for patrons with disabilities. When purchasing tickets online, you can select an accessible seat(s) or contact the Box Office at 864-235-2885 ext. 103 to purchase your tickets and request an accessible seat(s).

What shows are currently being cast?

Refer to our Auditions page: Auditions for upcoming shows

South Carolina Children’s Theatre
153 Augusta Street
Greenville, SC 29601

Each audition will differ based on the type of show, the cast needed, and the director’s requirements. Therefore, you must check the specific Audition Call for each specific production you are interested in. Audition requirements will be posted on the audition page of our website. If auditioning for a musical for the first time, you may want to review this document for tips on choosing your audition song. If you have further questions regarding auditions, email SCCT Production Stage Manager Meghan Kegeris at meghan@scchildrenstheatre.org.

Not at all! You are not required to take SCCT classes to audition or be cast in a production. We do, however, encourage participating in theatre training. It’s like any other form of training. It takes practice to hone the craft – the more you do it, the better you get.

When preparing for your audition appointment, please always dress neatly and comfortably.

Most musical auditions will include learning and performing a short dance. In this case, you would want to wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes that will allow you to move. Skirts/dresses and open-toed shoes are not recommended.

Every auditionee will be notified by email as to whether they have been cast or not.

Auditioning is a great introduction to South Carolina Children’s Theatre, but the best ways to get involved at SCCT are by participating in classes or volunteering. Both ways provide the opportunity to learn the essentials of bringing a production to life.

Absolutely! If you can’t attend in person, you can submit a video audition by emailing SCCT Production Stage Manager Meghan Kegeris at meghan@scchildrenstheatre.orgHere are some guidelines for creating your video.

Rehearsal times vary based on the type of production, directors, and individual roles. Most rehearsals are scheduled on Sunday, from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm, and Monday through Thursday, from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm the two months leading up to opening night. Rehearsal schedules are subject to change.
