For the Community

Our Commitment to Community Engagement and Support
At SCCT, we believe in fostering strong connections within our community and supporting individuals and organizations in their endeavors.

Here are some ways we engage with our community for little to no cost:

Residencies

We offer custom-built theatre education classes and workshops for community groups.

Pay What You Can (PWYC)

We believe that everyone should have access to theatre, regardless of financial means. That’s why we offer Pay What You Can (PWYC) options for select performances, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to experiencing our productions.

For every production, we offer one performance that patrons can pay as little as $1 per ticket. Our hope is that this makes theatre more accessible to our entire community, because we believe that art is for everyone.

Financial Aid

We understand the importance of nurturing talent and providing opportunities for growth. Through our financial programs, we offer financial assistance for workshops, classes, field trips, and more.

Nonprofit Partnerships

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We partner with nonprofit organizations to further our mission and support initiatives that align with our values. Our partnerships may involve donating tickets, costumes, set pieces, facility rentals, etc. Together, we work towards creating a vibrant and inclusive arts community.

SCCT Story Hours

Tell-Me-A-Story and Once Upon An Orchestra are a chance for young children to engage in a high-energy and child-friendly interpretation of their favorite children’s stories. It’s a great literacy connection and a sweet treat for your students, performed in SCCT’s Prisma Health Lobby. The material often includes audience participation or simple interaction and will last no longer than 30 minutes – perfect for young, wiggly patrons.

Tell-Me-A-Story is performed by one of our SCCT Teaching Artists, and can be booked for private performances as well. Once Upon An Orchestra is a partnership with Greenville Symphony and features live music performed by a Greenville Symphony musician.
