It’s a great literacy connection and a sweet treat for your students, performed in SCCT’s Prisma Health Lobby and is free of charge. The material includes audience participation or simple interaction and will last no longer than 30 minutes – perfect for young, wiggly patrons.

Story Drama – Great preparation for literacy and problem-solving. This workshop allows the kids to explore themes, characters, and settings of a different children’s book each time. Students act out and perform creatively through the world of the book and use their imaginations to solve problems together. We’ll create exciting new characters, explore dramatic environments, and develop literacy, collaboration, and social skills along the way
Sample Class – A chance to try out some of what we do in our Exploration classes. A Teaching Artist leads kids with their parents through some of the exercises we use to teach basic theatre skills.
Let’s Explore… – A chance for parents and their kids to explore an new idea with a Teaching Artist. Maybe we’ll explore creating a Paper Plate mask and then learn how to connect the body to supporting the mask’s expression. So much fun both in the creating as well as the “performance” AND you will get to take your creation home!
Parent Group with Kids Activities – Caregivers can have coffee together and chat with one of our Teaching Artists about opportunities for kids at SCCT and in the Upstate, or really anything they’d like a tribe to share thoughts with, all the while their kids are being led through activities with another Teaching Artist in a nearby classroom.
