Adult Acting

Fall 2026

We provide short sessions of four foundational acting classes for adults—college-age and up—in the Fall and Spring semesters, and then you may continue with other adult acting class veterans in an “actor’s gym” format, working on material in small groups until the informal sharing performances at the end of each semester. There is a small fee for these classes. CHILD CARE IS NOT OFFERED DURING ADULT ACTING CLASSES, and children may not sit in the building without adult supervision.

After having performed once, you may return in any semester (Fall or Spring) to again work in the “actor’s gym” on new material (If you want to work on a scene, find a scene partner and let the instructor know and she will help you find material to work on. If you want to work on another monologue, let the instructor know and she will help you find contrasting material to continue to stretch your actor’s skills.)

It’s a chance for anyone, from beginners to seasoned actors, to get together to learn more about all things theatre-related and work on material within an ensemble of like-minded, supportive students. Betsy Bisson is the Education Director at SCCT and has 40+ years of experience teaching acting.

If you’re a new student (we take a max of 12 each semester), register below.

Sundays 6:30-8:30 PM | Aug 23-Sept 20 | Betsy Bisson | $55
